The scholarship winner this year was McLean County.
Hannah Davis from McLean County High was this years winner. Hannah maintains a grade point average of 3.0. She is the Historian of the Future Business Leaders of America, Historian of the Health Occupation Students of America, she has been on the Basketball team 2001-2004 and is a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation. Hannah is highly regarded by the faculty and administration at McLean County High School and they recommended her for our scholarship. She will be attending Madisonville Community College to get a Nursing Degree. We wish Hannah much success in the years to come.

| Peggy Heflin Retiring |
Peggy Heflin, Mason Co. Treasurer, announced to her fiscal court this morning that she would be retiring sometime before December 31, 2008. Congratulations to Peggy! She has been a friend and mentor to me and I respect her work and relationships with county and state leadership thoughout Kentucky. Mary Lynn
Peggy has been with the county since 1993 and said no definite date has been set for her retirement, but due to changes within the state retirement system she will retire prior to Dec. 31, 2008.

| Govenors Local Issues Conference |
KACTFO will be having an association meeting in conjunction with the Local Issues Conference on August 4 in the morning. Time and agenda will be available as soon as it is finalized.
A KACTFO board meeting will follow the association meeting.

Tony Wilder, former Judge/Executive of the Boyle County Fiscal Court, offically begins his appointment May 1, 2008. As the Judge/Executive of Boyle County since 1994, he is extremely familiar with the issues county treasurers and finance officers face.
